JINX - Queer Costume Ball 2023 (Austin)

In 2023, we hosted our first queer costume ball in Austin, Texas and it was a spooky good time. This event was Inspired by the Salem town hall dance scene from Hocus Pocus (1993). We went with the name JINX for a sinister twist on the character Binx from the same movie. This classic Halloween movie is a favorite of Faye who had always dreamed of attending a party like the one on the screen.

JINX was originally supposed to be hosted on Friday, the 13th but unfortunately our venues were already booked with weddings for that day! Hopefully the nuptials worked out for those couples. We hosted it the following weekend and had many throwbacks to the movie throughout including a live band and a sexy, special appearance by the Sanderson Sisters aka our local queer erotic burlesque troupe (starring Reignbow Riot, Circe Strike, and JoJo Jezebel).
